We are currently offering the following class for Spring 2008:

• SOM 299 - "Meeting Your Shadow: Healing Your Shadow"
  Eight Thursday evenings May 8 - June 26 from 6:00 - 8:15 pm. The cost is $100 plus books and is facilitated by Rev. Madalyn Wade

We all have shadow sides by virtue of being human. In order to embrace our whole selves we shed light on our dark sides that may be preventing us from living joyful, awakened lives. When something in our unconscious is blocking our good it is an opportunity to heal. In this class we will explore The Shadow concept as developed by Carl Jung and others. The focus is on developing an awareness of what we have repressed and learning techniques to bring this repressed material to conscious awareness, to claim it, to embrace it as part of our whole selves, and to integrate it into a healthy ego-consciousness. We will be using Debbie Ford’s book, “Dark Side of the Light Chasers”. The final three weeks focus on the book “Conscious Loving” by Gay and Kathlyn Hendricks. It is about the shadow in relationship. The focus is on healing co-dependent aspects of the relationship and moving toward a fully co-committed relationship using the techniques provided. Taken together, the two segments of the class provide a comprehensive approach to the shadow, shadow issues, and shadow work. This new class is in the process of being accepted for accreditation by Religious Science International.

• Discovery/Membership Class
  Two Mondays evenings, May 12 and May 19 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Free class facilitated by Rev. Madalyn Wade

Discovery/Membership Class is the path to membership in the Sierra Center for Positive Living. Join us in class for a brief overview of Science of Mind, the history of New Thought and an orientation to the Sierra Center for Positive Living. Upon completion you may become a member of the Sierra Center for Positive Living and be eligible to vote for the new Pastor. Current members may want to attend as a refresher course to find out more about our sacred, spiritual community.
